Sergio is 24 years old but has already been practicing photgraphy for 11 years. He began to take pictures primarily out of a desire to emulate the cover art of Alaska, his favorite singer. He learned the technigue of photography as a means to that end, but in the process found himself increasingly drawn to photography as an artistic end in itself.
Sergio has never developed an interest in studio photography, as such, but has taken fashion and celebrity photographs at various times in his career. In recent years, Sergio has concentrated his vision primarily on the scourge of AIDS and its consequences. This has led to the formulastion of his current exhibition, X.
Sergio is currently visiting the United States, where he aspires to
stage exhibitions in certain major cities. He has already done a series
of exhibitions in his native Mexico, which garnered considerable fame/notoriety
and controversy.
